ROFF – Dale almost pulled off a comeback.

In the top of the sixth inning, Carson Hunt hit a solo home run. Unfortunately it was a solo shot and Roff was leading 2-0.

The Pirates were unable to rally, losing 2-1 in the Roff Tournament championship.

Bryce Crawford, David Herring, Jared Rogers, Tanner Collins and Cooper Hunt had one hit apiece.

Cooper Hunt pitched six innings in the loss. He surrendered three hits, two earned runs and struck out five.

Dale whipped Lookeba 8-0 in the semifinals.

Crawford set the tone from the leadoff spot going 3 for 4 with one RBI and one run scored. The senior had a team-high three stolen bases in the semis.

Collins was the second Pirate with two hits in the game. Collins also scored two runs and swiped one base.

Jono Johnson had the only double and drove in two against Lookeba.

Carson Hunt, Cooper Hunt and Rogers added hits in the earlier game.

Ryan Haney needed 50 pitches to earn the complete game win. In the one-hitter, Haney fanned four.

Dale (18-5) hosts McLoud Thursday. First pitch is scheduled for 4:30 p.m.
