The GCTC SkillsUSA American Spirit Chapter volunteered at a local community garden for their Citizenship/Patriotism Project. The community garden is a thriving part of the community, purely based on help from local volunteers. With the cold weather coming to an end, the garden needed help for the planting season. The SkillsUSA members worked this week in the garden to clean out old flower beds and plant new herbs. In January, the American Spirit team decided to build and donate 5 picnic tables to replace the damaged ones previously found in the garden. Students setup the new tables during this work session. Because of the help provided, the community garden is beginning to grow and look more beautiful.
