Carla Jean Kubiak Colwell, 54, of McLoud, Oklahoma, passed away on Tuesday, April 16, 2019, in Oklahoma City.

Carla Jean Kubiak Colwell, 54, of McLoud, Oklahoma, passed away on Tuesday, April 16, 2019, in Oklahoma City.

Carla was born on August 9, 1964, in Shawnee, to Florent Fred (pee wee) and Joann Kubiak. She graduated from McLoud High School in 1982. Carla loved flowers and operated her own floral shop for many years. Carla spent all her life as a homemaker where she enjoyed cooking, baking, crafting, and writing poetry. Carla spent the last few years caring for her two youngest grandchildren, Gauge and Wyatt Colwell.

Carla is survived by her two sons and their spouses Corey and Chelsea Colwell and Dylan and Cailyn Colwell, all of McLoud. She also leaves behind her pride and joys, her four grandsons, Gunner, Gatlin, Gauge and Wyatt Colwell, all of McLoud. Also survived by her three sisters and their spouses, Teresa and James Martin of Shawnee, Sherri and Carl Straka of Harrah, and Terri Lucy of McLoud. Uncles Benny and Paula Kubiak of Davis, Oklahoma, and David and Virginia Kubiak of McLoud, as well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was proceeded in death by her daddy, Fred (pee wee) Kubiak, her momma Jo Ann Kubiak, and her oldest sister Julia Ann Arthur.

Carla suffered from Rheumatoid arthritis since the age of 16. She wished for her body to be donated to science to further the research of this disease. 

A memorial service is planned for Friday, April 26, at the Shawnee Elks Lodge at 1 pm.
