Marion Franklin Milburn Jr., 95, was born Nov. 8, 1923, to Harrisburg, Oklahoma, to Marion Franklin Milburn, Sr. and Anita Clark. He was the last of nine siblings.

Marion Franklin Milburn Jr., 95, was born Nov. 8, 1923, to Harrisburg, Oklahoma, to Marion Franklin Milburn Sr. and Anita Clark. He was the last of nine siblings.

Marion died in his home in Tecumseh on April 18, 2019.

Marion was raised in Duncan, Oklahoma, and attended Duncan Public Schools. He graduated with the class of 1943 from Duncan High School.

After high school, he joined the U.S. Navy during WWII and proudly served his country on the U.S.S. Fulton as a Submarine Tender for four years.

After his military service, he attended Cameron College and graduated from Oklahoma A & M. He received his bachelor’s degree in 1949 in agriculture science. He had a distinguished career in teaching vo-ag at Asher, Wellston, Chandler, Drummond and Liberty Mounds, Oklahoma, before retiring.

Marion married his first wife, Evelyn Alexander, and had three children, Joan, Jane and Fred.

He enjoyed traveling, going to the lake and trips to Branson.

He was preceded in death by his first wife Evelyn; daughter, Jane Sitton; son-in-law, Mike Sitton; daughter, Pamela Etchieson; grandson, Michael Gray; and great-granddaughter, Harley Albarado.

Marion is survived by his wife, Linda Milburn of the Tecumseh; daughter, Joan and Joe Albarado of Carencro, Louisiana; son, Fred Milburn of Carencro; daughter, Lisa Gray of Tecumseh, daughter, Dana and Milton Blackburn Jr. of Oklahoma City; sister-in-law, Katherine Milburn of Oklahoma City. He has 15 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; and other extended family and friends.

Visitation will be from noon to 8 p.m., Monday, April 22, and from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., Tuesday, April 23. Family gathering to greet friends and family will be from 5 to 7 p.m., Monday, April 22, at Cooper Funeral Home.

Service will be 2 p.m., Tuesday, April 23, at Cooper Funeral Home Chapel with Terry Newell, Avoca Church of Christ in Asher, officiating. Burial will follow at Vista Cemetery in Asher under the direction of Cooper Funeral Home of Tecumseh.
