McLOUD – With the regular season winding down, the McLoud Lady Redskins pulled off an impressive comeback Monday night.
McLoud trailed 9-2 heading into the sixth inning before they rattled off 14 runs and a 17-9 triumph over Sulphur.
Gabby Sears and Jessie Wooten hit two home runs each with Sears leading the squad with five runs batted in. One of Sears' homers was a grand slam. Wooten contributed two RBIs in the winning effort.
Shyann Shipman blasted McLoud's second grand slam of the evening.
Makyna Higdon went 2 for 4 with the team's only double.
Callie Cardin, Lexie Boyer, Rachelle Stephens, Kianne Wahpekeche and Taylor Kennedy all went in the book with at least one hit.
McLoud will host their regional Thursday. The Lady Redskins will play Weatherford in opening round action at 1 p.m. The semifinal game is slated for 3:30 p.m. Thursday.
