ASHER – The Indians were unable to secure a spot in the state tournament but have another chance Saturday.

A seven-run fourth inning was Asher’s undoing as they fell to Kiowa 12-2 Friday afternoon.

Trevor Martin registered the club’s two runs with one swing of the bat. Martin went 1 for 1 with a home run. Jake Dobbs scored on Martin’s roundtripper.

Braydon Sanders pitched 3 1/3 innings in the loss. In the 103-pitch outing, Sanders was on the hook for seven runs and struck out five.

Asher plays Kiowa Saturday at 1 p.m. with the winner advancing to the Class B State Tournament.
