STILLWATER — Shawnee’s 2019 campaign came to an end Thursday as the Wolves were upended 9-8 by Enid and 4-1 by Stillwater at a Class 6A regional.

The Wolves concluded the season at 15-19.

Enid broke a 7-all tie with a run in the top of the seventh inning.

The Plainsmen committed four errors, leading to three unearned runs for the Wolves. Shawnee was guilty of three errors, producing four unearned runs.

Austin Wood highlighted Shawnee’s six-hit attack with a double, two singles and three runs batted in.

Jacob Hill went 1 for 2 with a double and knocked in two runs.

Shawnee utilized Carson Payne, Wood and Jay Easley on the mound with the latter absorbing the loss after a three-inning stint.

Enid had just five hits, including a double by Ambren Voitik, but was the beneficiary of 10 walks.

Shawnee’s lack of pitching control was also a big factor against Stillwater. The Pioneers finished with only two singles but benefited from 13 walks off three hurlers.

Shawnee compiled eight hits, including a double apiece from Scout Cawvey and Austin Gonzales. Jaret Johnson and Cawvey registered two hits apiece.

Stillwater’s Caden Pogue and Eli Riggs combined to walk just three SHS batters.

Shawnee stranded 10 runners and struck out eight times.
