Through June 1, Arvest Bank is encouraging food and financial donations for customers as part of its ninth annual Million Meals Campaign. Each year, the initiative brings together bank associates, customers and the community to raise at least one million meals to benefit food banks in four states. Donations in central and western Oklahoma will benefit the Regional Food Bank of Oklahoma.
"The initiative comes at a time of the year when it is needed most as thousands of food insecure Oklahoma children lose the benefit of having meals at school," said Katie Fitzgerald, chief executive officer of the Regional Food Bank. "We are so grateful to Arvest Bank, their employees and customers for continuing to help us fight hunger in Oklahoma."
Arvest encourages customers to donate in four ways:
By Phone - Customers can make donations of $1 or more by calling 866-952-9523. Funds are drawn directly from customer's accounts.
By Mail - Checks can be mailed to Arvest Bank Operations, ATTN: Million Meals, P.O. Box 7799, Lowell, AR 72745.
Donate in a Branch - Arvest Bank locations are accepting cash and check donations during bank hours.
Donate on Arvest Go - The Arvest Go mobile app also accepts donations. Visit arvest.com/go for more information on the app.
One in six Oklahomans lacks consistent access to enough food for an active, healthy life. In the past year, the Regional Food Bank distributed 50 million pounds of food to more than 1,250 community-based partner agencies in communities in central and western Oklahoma.
In 2018, Arvest Bank donated $15,000 to the Regional Food Bank through the Million Meals Campaign. The donation provided the equivalent of 60,000 meals to Oklahomans in need of food assistance.
