Norman Eugene Moudy Sr., 84, of McLoud, passed away Sunday, June 2, 2019, in Oklahoma City.

Norman Eugene Moudy Sr., 84, of McLoud, passed away Sunday, June 2, 2019, in Oklahoma City.

He was born Aug. 4, 1934, to Barnie Albert and Ella Lee (Hays) Moudy in Belleville, Arkansas.

Norman moved with his family to Tecumseh in 1938 where he grew up and attended school. He was a 1952 graduate of Tecumseh High School.

He married Ethel Gloria Monk on June 14, 1957, in Tecumseh.

Norman proudly served his country in the U.S. Air Force serving in the Korean War and Vietnam War. He served in Japan, Thailand, Germany and Iceland as a Tech Sergeant until retiring after 22 years of service in the U.S. Air Force.

After his military service he settled back in the Tecumseh area in 1974 where he made his home until moving to McLoud 14 years ago.

Norman worked at Wolverine Tube in Shawnee for 22 years until retiring.

He was a longtime member of the Church of Christ and a member of the American Legion Post 260.

He was preceded in death by his granddaughter, Shalawna Gentry; parents, Barnie and Ella Moudy; two brothers, Earl Moudy and Odis Moudy; and sister and brother-in-law, Anona and Claude Willis.

Survivors include his wife, Ethel Gloria Monk-Moudy of the home; one son, Norman Eugene Moudy Jr. of Shawnee; two daughters and two sons-in-law, Melinda D. and Dannie E. Gentry of Shawnee, and Carrie and Roger Tyler of McLoud; eight grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; one brother and one sister-in-law, James and Sheila Moudy of Shawnee; and numerous nieces, nephews and other extended family and friends.

Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m., Thursday, June 6, and from 9 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., Friday, June 7, at Cooper Funeral Home.

Graveside service will be 2 p.m., Friday, June 7, at Resthaven Memorial Park in Shawnee with David Brassfield of Newalla Church of Christ officiating under the direction of Cooper Funeral Home of Tecumseh.
