Grove Public Schools was approved to use $56,880 for new technology such as iPads, keyboards and an Apple TV by Pottawatomie County Commissioners at their bimonthly meeting Monday afternoon.

In addition to Grove, Wanette Public Schools also received approval from the Commissioners to purchase a new lawn mower.

Funds will come from the county's education sales tax slated for area schools.

The Commissioners also approved a quote for a controlled access system for the Pottawatomie County courthouse.

Many items on the agenda were approved as well, including Shawnee Public Schools being to utilize a portion of its education sales tax funds to pay a yearly technology lease to Dell Financial Services and a yearly lease payment to Vision Bank for the Brackeen Property. Also approved was a yearly lease payment to UMB Bank for the Stucker Remodel and Paving Projects at Will Rogers and Jefferson Elementary schools.

South Rock Public Schools were also approved to go out on bid for furniture for their four new class rooms.

Commissioners also extended the janitorial contract with Alliance Maintenance for three months.

In addition, Commissioners also awarded six month materials bid.

Standard items were approved at the meeting as well including minutes from a special meeting, payroll, monthly reports of county officers, Transfer of Appropriations, Blanket Purchase Orders and other items.

A VAWA Grant was also approved and no action was taken on the approximate square footage and usage for the proposed County Administration building.

Commissioners also approved disposal resolutions for various cars for the sheriff's office as well as surplus on two Dell laptops.

A utility permit for DCP Southern Hills Pipeline LLC in the SESW/4 of Section 12-T11N-R35 crossing Moccasin Trail was approved.

Commissioners also accepted Crimson Lane as being a county maintained road, but they did not approve a contract with Detention Transportation with Oklahoma Office of Juvenile Affairs.

A majority of the agenda consisted of interlocal agreements between Pottawatomie County and other counties, cities and school districts throughout the county and surrounding areas.
