A tradition in Shawnee for many years, participants in the International Finals Youth Rodeo again will make a visit The Shawnee Public Library to “Reach for the Stars” in a Rodeo Roundup at 2 p.m. Wednesday, July 10, in Rooms A and B of the library, 101 N. Philadelphia Ave.

The group will give first-hand accounts about a day in the life of a teen rodeo participant and also give a demonstration of their rodeo skills. Attendees will receive an autographed IFYR poster and a chuck wagon snack.

All ages are invited to attend the event, and no advance registration is required.

The following day, on Thursday, July 11, the library will make a trip to the rodeo, as admission for the morning session of the IFYR from 9 to 10:30 a.m. is free for anyone who shows their library card at the entrance gate.

The rodeo takes place at the Heart of Oklahoma Exposition Center, 1700 W. Independence.
