Shawnee resident Tommy Parrish, 75, passed away Thursday, July 11, 2019, at his home.

Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. Monday, July 15, at Walker Funeral Service.

Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Tuesday, July 16, at Walker Funeral Service Chapel. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery.

TP was born July 30, 1943, in Shawnee, the son of John Orville Parrish and Viola Peral (Coley) Parrish. He graduated from Shawnee High School.

Tommy served in the United States Army in Vietnam where he was a member of the 82nd Airborne as an Armor Recon Spec. He was awarded the National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal with Device 60, Combat Infantryman Badge, Army Commendation Medal, and the Bronze Star Medal.

He married Michaela (Lyle) in 1973. He retired from the Shawnee Fire Department after many years of services.

Tommy was a lifetime member of the V.F.W.

He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Jimmy Wayne Parrish.

Survivors include his wife, Michaela Parrish of the home; three children, Tommy Dean Parrish II of Shawnee, Amber Renee Howard and husband Matthew of Shawnee, Patrick Shane Parrish and wife Heather of Enid; three grandchildren: Laney Jade Williams, Colin Stewart Howard, Georgia Kate Parrish; brother: John K. Parrish of Shawnee,and several nieces, nephews, other family members and friends.
