A Chandler resident was killed in a car collision around 4:15 p.m. Wednesday, July 25 on State Highway 18 and 930 Road near the city of Chandler in Lincoln County.

The Oklahoma Highway Patrol said 30-year-old Casey Fell of Chandler was traveling southbound in his 2005 Chevrolet Cavalier on State Highway 18 and departed the roadway for unknown reasons, overcorrected and entered a broad slide, crossing the center line.

Fell was struck on the passenger-side of his vehicle by a 2019 Ford F-350 driven by 26-year-old Cody Lalonde of St. Martinville Louisiana, the patrol said.

Both vehicles came to rest on the northbound shoulder of SH 18.

There were two passengers in Lalonde's car — 25-year-old Connor Simoneaux of St. Martinville, Louisiana and 60-year-old Oscar Parra of Las Vegas, Nevada.

Fell was pronounced dead on the scene by the Medical Examiner, troopers reported.

Lalonde refused EMS treatment at the scene and was transported by private vehicle to SSM St. Anthony Hospital Shawnee, where he was treated and then released.

Simoneaux also refused EMS treatment and went by private vehicle Shawnee's hospital with arm and trunk internal injuries, where he also was treated and released. Parra also went to the hospital for unspecified injuries.

Troopers said weather was clear and dry. All airbags were equipped and deployed but no one in Lalonde's car was using a seat belt and it's unclear if Fell was wearing a seat belt.

Trooper Post of the Pottawatomie/Lincoln County Detachment of Troop A worked the crash scene with assistance from Lt.. Liles of Troop A, as well as Chandler police, the Chandler Fire Department, Chandler EMS, the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office, the Medical Examiner’s Office, and the Oklahoma Department of Transportation.
