Seminole State College’s fall semester begins Monday, August 12.  Students interested in taking college courses during this semester are encouraged to enroll before classes begin.

To help potential students prepare for the upcoming semester, SSC representatives will be available at the Shawnee Mall in the central court near Dunham’s Sporting Goods on Saturday, August 3, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. to answer questions and help interested students complete the online application.

Special extended office hours will be offered the following week at SSC. Admissions, financial aid, the business office and the bookstore will be open Monday, August 5 through Thursday, August 8, 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.; Friday, August 9, 8 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.; and Saturday, August 10, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

A variety of activities are scheduled during SSC’s extended hours week for those coming to enroll, including free popcorn each day. On Monday, August 5 and Friday, August 9, free snow-cones will be available from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. On Tuesday, August 6, KIRC Real Country radio will be broadcasting on campus and free hot dogs will be served from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. while supplies last. Free donuts will be available Wednesday morning, August 7. Free SSC t-shirts will be offered to all new enrollments on Monday, August 5, Thursday, August 8 and Saturday, August 10.

SSC’s regular office hours will resume Monday, August 12 and are 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Monday; 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday through Thursday; and 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Friday.

Day, evening, weekend and online courses are being offered. SSC students can receive associate degrees in 18 transfer degree programs including concentrations in agriculture, art, biology, business, child development, computer science, criminal justice, elementary education, health, physical education and recreation, health sciences, liberal studies, pre-engineering, psychology, secondary education and social sciences. The College also offers five workforce degrees programs in business technology, engineering technology, medical laboratory technology, nursing and physical therapy.
