McAlester snapped a 1-1 tie with four unearned runs in the top of the fifth inning.

Losing hurler Kylee Akehurst permitted nine hits and all five runs were unearned. She fanned two.

Tecumseh, 4-1, supplied eight hits but stranded nine runners.

Leadoff hitter Ayzia Shirey was Tecumseh’s offensive ringleader at 3 of 4 — a triple and two singles. Lauren Taylor added two singles and Bristin Hayes doubled.

Tecumseh will oppose Latta in today’s 12:15 championship game at the Ada Sports Complex.
