Gertrude Lucille Hamm, 82, Seminole resident, passed away Sunday, Sept. 1, 2019, at her home in Seminole.

Gertrude Lucille Hamm, 82, Seminole resident, passed away Sunday, Sept. 1, 2019, at her home in Seminole.

Gertrude was born April 19, 1937, in Bristow, Oklahoma, to Charles Holt and Maxine (Clark) Holt.

Gertrude owned and operated Hamm’s Day Care in Shawnee for 35 years. She loved her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and spending time with them.

Gertrude married Charles E. Hamm on Sept. 9, 1952, in Las Vegas, Nevada, and he preceded her in death on Jan. 14, 2008.

She is survived by her son Charles E. Hamm Jr. and his wife Dawna Hamm of Shawnee, two daughters Pamela Gene Miller and her husband Pete of Columbia, Missouri, and Gale Katheline Gilbert, her brother and sister-in-law, C.A. and Judy Bearshears of Oregon, her eight grandchildren; Holly Edwards, Anna Hamm, Jeremey Hair, Chad Hamm, Robert Miller, Joshua Hair, Amber Whiteside and Crystal Rodriguez and 19 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Charles Hamm and a daughter Deborah Mead.

Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m., Saturday, Sept. 7, at the Castle Cemetery in Castle, Oklahoma. Dennis Parmer will officiate at the service.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home in Seminole.
