City and county tax collections are reportedly up for September.
Shawnee city sales tax collections are up for September, compared to the same month a year ago.
Ashley Neel, finance director and city treasurer, reports the sales and use tax collections received this month totaled $2,105,083.99.
“The overall budgeted increase for both sales and use tax collections for FY 2020 was a modest 0.75 percent based on conservative estimates of historical trends,” Neel said in her report. “For the year, sales tax collections are up $122,750 or 2.26 percent over the projected budget year-to-date.”
Use tax collections are up approximately $248,232 or 63.30 percent over the projected budget year-to-date, she said.
Pottawatomie County's sales tax collections for September showed an increase in revenue over September 2018. Treasurer Wendy Magnus reported this month's collections totaled $695,343.67, up from the same month a year ago when $635,486.95 was received –– an increase of $59,856.72.
