BYNG — Fueled by a 15-hit attack, Dale blasted Byng 10-3 Tuesday.
Ike Shirey led the way at 3 for 4 with a double, two singles, four runs and two runs batted in.
Dale’s Tanner Collins, Dallen Forsythe, Carson Hunt and Jono Johnson recorded two singles. Forsythe scored three times.
David Herring singled and drove in two runs. Cade Capps delivered a run-scoring single.
Herring, who pitched his third complete game of the season, allowed five hits, whiffed three and walked two. Byng’s three runs were earned as Herring improved to 5-0.
“We really played clean baseball tonight,” Dale coach Eddie Jeffcoat said. “We put some pressure on them through our hitting.”
Dale, ranked second in Class A, didn’t commit an error in running its record to 20-3.
The Pirates will entertain Crowder at 5 p.m. Thursday, then play host to Latta at 4:30 Friday.
