LITTLE AXE — Down 30-28 with six minutes remaining, Bethel scored 26 points for a thrilling 54-30 non-district triumph over Little Axe Friday night.

Over the final six minutes, Bethel recovered two fumbles and intercepted a pass.

Sophomore Corey Metscher took advantage of those turnovers by scoring touchdowns on runs of 16, 9, 25 and 3 yards. His final touchdown came after Devin Acklin intercepted a pass and returned it to the Little Axe 3-yard line.

In the opening half, Bethel quarterback Gunner Smith threw touchdown passes of 26 and 47 yards to Drae Wood as well as 29 and 22-yard scoring efforts to Acklin.
