Norman “Doug” Miller, age 72, of Tecumseh, passed away Monday, Oct. 14, 2019, in Shawnee.

Norman “Doug” Miller, age 72, of Tecumseh, passed away Monday, Oct. 14, 2019, in Shawnee.

He was born Oct. 13, 1947, to George Arthur and Thema Louise (Dossey) Miller.

Doug was born in Corning, Arkansas, and was raised in Shawnee. He spent all of his adult life in Tecumseh. He attended grade school at Dale Public Schools, he then attended middle school and high school in Shawnee and graduated from Shawnee with the class of 1966.

He married Janice Wall on June 19, 1970, in Shawnee.

Doug proudly served his country in the 5th Special Forces, Green Beret, with the United States Army.

He was the owner/operator of Doug Miller Floor Covering.

Doug enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was very artistic and an excellent marksman.

He was preceded in death by his father.

Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of 49 years, Janice, of the home; one daughter, Regina Ross of Tecumseh; one son and daughter-in-law, Timothy and Vanessa Miller of Claremore, Oklahoma; three grandchildren, Gage Ross, Cale Miller and Kaelynn Miller; his mother, Thelma Devine; one brother, Dan Miller; and many other family and friends.

A Celebration of Life service will be 3 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 24, 2019 at The Tecumseh American Legion.
