Four members of the Class 2A state runner-up Dale Lady Pirates were named to the Class 2A All-District 1 Fastpitch Softball Team, led by District Most Valuable Player and sophomore Addie Bell.

Four members of the Class 2A state runner-up Dale Lady Pirates were named to the Class 2A All-District 1 Fastpitch Softball Team, led by District Most Valuable Player and sophomore Addie Bell.

Joining Bell on the all-district team were junior shortstop Emmie Idleman, junior third baseman Danyn Lang and freshman utility Maddie Conley for Dale head coach Andy Powell.

Bell had a magnificent season from the plate and the pitcher’s circle. She owned a .444 batting average with one home run, 15 doubles and 52 runs batted in. As a pitcher, she boasted a 22-3 record with a 1.85 earned run average while recording 77 strikeouts in the process.

Idleman batted .429 with four triples, 10 doubles and 39 RBIs. Lang stole a whopping 41 bases, homered twice and scored 56 runs in possessing a .337 batting average. Conley hit .407, drove home 37 runs and collected 15 doubles.

The Lady Pirates had a sparkling 33-5 record this fall and won two straight games at the Class 2A State Tournament, before falling to Silo, 4-1, in the title game. Dale slammed Stroud, 14-4, in the state tournament opener and then registered a thrilling 4-3 come-from-behind victory over Latta.
