Shawnee police detectives are asking for the public's help in solving a hit-and-accident that injured a bicyclist in Shawnee.

On Saturday night, Oct. 5, at approximately 8:18 p.m., there was a vehicle versus bicyclist collision that took place at the intersection of East Highland and North Philadelphia. Shawnee police say the victim was identified as 58-year-old Kurt Mitchell.

He was transported by paramedics to OU Medical Center in Oklahoma City for trauma to the head and has been hospitalized since the collision.

Witnesses at the scene described the suspect vehicle to be a silver or gray sedan. There should be damage to the passenger side of the vehicle near the front quarter-panel. They also believed the vehicle was occupied by two younger females.
