ASHER – Patch Hamilton and Mike McDonald each tossed in 19 points Tuesday night as the Asher Indians registered a 65-53 victory over the Stonewall Longhorns.
Hamilton ended up with a double-double as he also pulled down 12 rebounds to go with his 19 points. Juston Melton also posted a double-double for Asher as he tallied 12 points and grabbed 10 boards.
McDonald sank a pair of 3-point baskets and Bryson Martin had one on his way to seven points.
“Stonewall played a great game tonight. Wes Moreland is an outstanding coach. His team was very well prepared for tonight,” said Asher head coach Scott Hamilton. “We just seemed to find an answer in each quarter for the way they defended us, mainly doubling our leading scorer hard all night. It's always good to win inside your conference.”
The win lifted the Indians to 4-0 on the season.
Clayton Findley fired in a game-high 30 points for Stonewall as he knocked down seven 3-point shots.
In the girls' game, Kaylee Ford tallied 12 points and Mahayla Walker added 10 as the Stonewall girls upended the Lady Indians, 40-29.
Meghan Sliger also chipped in nine points for the Lady Longhorns.
Alexis Francis topped Asher with 14 points and Kathryn Dixon supplied 10.
Both Asher teams are idle until Tuesday, Nov. 26, when they play at Wanette.
