A man was injured in a car crash Tuesday, Nov. 19 on South Highway 9 and County Road NS 3520, about two miles south and two miles west of Seminole at approximately 6:58 p.m., the Oklahoma Highway Patrol said.
According to the report of Trooper Dion Wild, Marvin Yackeyonny, 46, of Konawa, Oklahoma was transported by Seminole Fire in stable condition to OU Medical Center in Oklahoma City.
Yackeyonny, the report said, was driving his 2006 Kia Sorrento northbound on County Road NS 3520 when he lost control of the vehicle and it departed to the left, struck an embankment and rolled a few times before coming to a rest on the passenger’s side.
The report said Yackeyonny was transported to the hospital with head, internal, arm and leg injuries.
Wild's report said there was an odor of alcohol on Yackeyonny, he was traveling at an unsafe speed for the type of roadway, his seat belt was in use, the airbags deployed and the weather was clear and dry.
The OHP was assisted by the Seminole Fire Department, Seminole County Sheriff’s Office, Seminole Nation Lighthorsemen and Maud Fire Department.
