EDMOND – Piper McNeil won the 100-yard backstroke in 58.85 seconds and was second in the 200 freestyle in 1:58.19 while Shawnee's 200-yard freestyle relay team came out on top as the Lady Wolves competed in the Edmond Meet at Mitch Park.
The Shawnee girls ended up fifth in the team standings while competing with Bentonville High School and Bentonville West High School out of Arkansas, along with the three Edmond schools of North, Memorial and Santa Fe, along with Tulsa Washington.
The Lady Wolves' winning 200 freestyle relay team consisted of McNeil, Aspen Chapline, Eva Webb and Isabel Webb as they clocked in with a finals time of 1:46.30.
Also nabbing a second-place finish for Shawnee was Isabel Webb in the 50-yard freestyle with a finals time of 26:01.
The Lady Wolves were fourth in two other events – the 200 medley relay and Eva Webb in the 200 individual medley. The medley relay team of Isabel Webb, Natalie Selman, McNeil and Eva Webb covered the distance in 2:00.96 and Eva Webb clocked in at 2:24.77 in the 200 individual medley.
Eva Webb finished fifth in the 100 freestyle in 58.70.
The Wolves took fourth place in the team standings as 200 relays registered runner-up efforts.
Shawnee's 200 medley relay team of Trent Ogden, Kiergan Gibson, Josh Coons and Brodie Morris clocked in at 1:47.15 in the finals for second place.
Ogden, Troy Rakestraw, Gibson and Morris later finished in 1:36.46 in the finals of the 200 freestyle for second place.
The Wolves also had two third-place efforts from Morris in the 200 freestyle (1:55.23) and Ogden in the 50 freestyle (23:05).
Placing fourth for Shawnee were Ogden in the 100 backstroke (57.90 seconds) and Gibson in the 100 breaststroke (1:07.43).
Taking fifth for the Wolves were Thurman Lee in the 200 freestyle (2:03.64) and Morrid in the 100 butterfly (57.60 seconds).
