EARLSBORO—The Earlsboro basketball squads played host to New Lima Tuesday night as the two schools shared wins.

The Wildcats pounced on the Falcons, 78-55 after the Lady Falcons took down the Lady Wildcats 57-52 in the early game.

In the nightcap, Earlsboro wasted little time in building a lead over the visitors. The Wildcats led 19-11 after the first quarter and used three treys to do so. Brady Sheets hit two of them while Elijah Maher hit the other.

Earlsboro continued to increase the advantage throughout the second quarter and bumped up the lead to 39-22 at the half. Sheets and Maher each hit another trey apiece in the frame and Dante Hall joined in the fun with a bomb of his own.

The Falcons came out and hit two 3-pointers to open the second half, cutting the Earlsboro lead to 41-30 with 4:28 on the third quarter clock. The Wildcats then went on a seven-point tear to end the Falcons threat..

Earlsboro led 58-38 after three quarters and got the lead up to 25 points two times late in the fourth quarter.

Sheets led all scorers with 22 points, including his three treys. Trent Deere added 10 points for Earlsboro and Cody Skaggs chipped in with nine points off the bench.

The Wildcats improved to 3-3 on the young season and will travel to Moss, Friday night.

In the opener, the Lady Wildcats held the lead for most of the first half, but an Alloni Harge long-range 3-pointer at the halftime buzzer changed things.

Earlsboro led 21-17 after the first quarter of play and did good work with interior passing against the Lady Falcon zone.

An Abbey McCarroll bucket with 6:36 left in the first half gave the Lady Wildcats their biggest lead at 27-19. Earlsboro wouldn’t score again until a McCarroll free throw with :10 left gave the home team a 28-26 lead. That’s when Harge hit the long-range dagger.

New Lima held Earlsboro to just six points in the third quarter and built a 45-34 advantage in the process.

Earlsboro, behind McCarroll’s eight-point fourth quarter effort, closed the gap to 51-49 with 2:14 remaining in the contest. Harge proved to be too much the for Lady Wildcats' defense, scoring six points down the stretch to capture the road win.

Harge led all scorers with a 27-point effort. K’Lee Shaw added 11 for New Lima.

McCarroll led Earlsboro with 19 points, while Sierra Streater and Alexxis Coon each added a dozen

The Lady Wildcats fell to 3-3 on the season and will travel to Moss Friday night.
