Shawnee resident Linda Loraine Stone, 92, died Thursday, Nov. 30, 2019.
On Saturday, Nov. 30, 2019, Linda Loraine Stone, loving mother of seven children, passed away at the age of 92. She was a long-time resident of Shawnee.
Loraine was born Dec. 25, 1926, in Hobart, to Edward and Ola Long. She raised seven children on her own and did it well. As the children got older, Loraine began working outside of the home at the local Ben Franklin’s department store. She was a long-time employee in their craft department. Loraine was also an avid reader.
Loraine is preceded in death by her parents, brothers, James, Virgil, and LeRoy Long, her son, Ronnie Stone, great-grandson, Carter Alderman, and daughter-in-law, Susan Stone. She is survived by her children, Jerry Holland (Jeannie), Sherry Null (Steve), Danny Stone (Michele), Sheila Garner (David), Kevin Stone, Denise Neese (Carlos), her sister Christine Williams (Myron), Robert Nolan, and Margaret Outlaw, and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. She will be greatly missed by all of them. Pallbearers will be Robert Nolan, Robert Nolan Jr., Greg Stone, Christopher Stone, Michael Stone and Ronnie Stone.
A graveside service will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 4, at the Wanette Cemetery, with Dennis Palmer officiating. Services are under the direction of Walker Funeral Service in Shawnee.
