BETHEL – The Bethel Wildcats received consecutive falls at 138, 145, 152 and 160 pounds in coming away with a 48-35 dual victory over the McLoud Redskins in a wrestling dual Monday night.

Bethel won seven of its eight matches by pin with the other being a forfeit.

McLoud won four of its matches via falls, one by technical fall and one by injury default.

The opening match, at 106 matches, had females Jordan Blair, of Bethel, and Crystal Ramirez, of McLoud, battling it out as Blair pinned Ramirez in 32 seconds.

McLoud retaliated and tied it up at 6-6 as Jeremy Spencer pinned Isabel Lee in 4:27 at 113 pounds.

At 120 pounds, Bethel went up 12-6 when Bethel's Travis Byars pinned Dalton Baker in 1:31.

The Redskins again tied it up as Elijah Reece pinned Rowdy Strong in 2:31 at 126 pounds. McLoud's Carson Cue vaulted McLoud in the dual lead at 17-12 with a technical fall over Evan Jantz at 132.

Then came the string of four straight falls for the Wildcats.

At 138 pounds, Bethel's Aaron Brodine pinned Joseph Bates in 2:45 to put his team up 18-17 for good. The Wildcats' Dezman Loving then won by fall over J.J. Martinez in 1:24 at 145 to make it 24-17.

Bethel's T.J. Ramsey, coming off a championship and a Most Valuable Wrestler award at the Okmulgee Tournament, pinned Cordel Roberts in 50 seconds at 152 pounds to make it 30-17 and then the Wildcats' Connor Hall won by fall over Orein Gay in 1:54 at 160 to make it 36-17.

McLoud broke the string when Joey Dickens pinned Jonathan Allred in 2:26 at 170 pounds to make it 36-23. Bethel's Amberjot Khashira received the forfeit victory at 182 pounds to make it 42-23.

The Redskins then got back-to-back falls as Carson Edwards pinned Fischer Gambill in 1:00 at 195 pounds and Denzel Harris won by injury default over Cole Dyer in 33 seconds to make it 42-35.

At heavyweight, the Wildcats' Dominick Contreras won by fall over Braden Osborne in 2:45.
