The Dale Lady Pirates and Pirates came up short in the finals of the Bison Invitational on Saturday at Oklahoma Baptist University's Noble Complex.

Class 6A 16th-ranked Midwest City improved to 4-0 on the season with a 44-41 decision over the 2A top-ranked Lady Pirates, while 3A 13th-ranked Oklahoma Christian School rolled to a 56-42 decision over the 2A second-ranked Dale boys.

The losses were the first of the season for both the Lady Pirates and Pirates, who each fell to 5-1.

Midwest City 44, Dale 41 (Girls)

Kennedi Grant tossed in 17 points and Taliyah Anderson followed with 10 for the Lady Bombers in the tightly-contested girls' title game.

Elaine Witt poured in a game-high 21 points to spark the Lady Pirates in losing effort. Danyn Lang chipped in seven points and converted her team's only 3-pointer and Lindy Nowakowski was next with five total points.

OCS 56, Dale 42 (Boys)

The Saints' big man Mason Robbins tossed in 14 points and Ethan Hodson collected 12 as OCS rolled to the 14-point victory in the boys' championship game.

Trae Thompson tossed in a game-leading 16 points for the Pirates. Brady Johnson followed with seven points and Ike Shirey popped in a pair of treys in finishing with six points.

Dale's next action is Friday at Jones.
