SEMINOLE — The Chieftains of Seminole jumped ahead of Chandler 19-12 after one quarter and held on for a 58-48 victory Tuesday night.

Seminole (4-2) received double-figure scoring from Cepado Wilkins (20), Hunter Wurtz (14) and Easton Wurtz (12). Hunter Wurtz caned two 3-point shots and Easton Wurtz had one.

Adam O’Daniel of Seminole finished with nine points.

Dalton Alsip of Chandler registered five 3-pointers on the way to a team-high 19 points. Caedon Parris canned two treys in recording 12 points.

Girls

Propelled by a 17-5 opening-quarter advantage, Chandler throttled Seminole 52-38.

Chandler was never seriously pressed, leading 42-26 entering the final eight minutes.

Freshman Holli Ladd, Seminole’s leading scorer on the season at 15 points per game, didn’t play because of an ankle sprain.

Katyanna Andrews was Seminole’s top scorer with 18 points, including two 3-pointers. Twelve of her points came in the first half.

Makayla Harge added 15 points for Seminole (4-2).

Leah Brannon of Chandler put in 16 points and teammate Hannah Vandenbrand added 13. Jaedyn Wayland knocked down two 3-point shots.

Seminole was just 6-of-14 from the line for 42.8%. Chandler was 12-of-19.

Seminole will travel to Wewoka Friday. Chandler will entertain Jones Thursday.
