STILLWATER – Former Shawnee High School standout Lauren Fields tallied eight points, dished out two assists and recorded a pair of steals in just 13 minutes of play during the Oklahoma State Cowgirls' most recent game – a 78-44 rout of Oral Roberts – on Friday, Dec. 20, at Gallagher-Iba Arena.

In her freshman campaign, the 5-foot, 9-inch guard is averaging 5.9 points and 2.3 rebounds as Oklahoma State is off to an 8-3 start to the 2019-20 season.

Fields has reached double figures in scoring three times this season, including 10 against Idaho, 13 against Idaho State and 12 against Rice, all three Cowgirl wins.

Her high-rebounding effort was four twice against Idaho and Tulsa. She had a career-best five assists and four steals against Idaho State.

OSU's next game is Monday, Dec. 30, against Duquesne at 1 p.m. in Stillwater.

Fields averaged 15.4 points, 4.3 rebounds and 3.2 assists as a senior at SHS as she was selected as Suburban Conference Player of the Year. She was an all-state selection by the Oklahoma Girls Basketball Coaches Association and the Oklahoma Coaches Association.

Also during her high school career, Fields was named to the USA Today High School Sports' All-USA Oklahoma Girls Basketball Team. She represented the United State as a member of the 2018 Adidas Girls USA Select Team in Italy and was one of five players from the state to be named a McDonald's All-American Game nominee.
