An investigation into a weekend death continues as a cause of death is awaited, but tribal officials on Monday released the man's name.
Monday, CPN's Director of Public Information, Jennifer Bell, released the name of the victim.
“We can confirm that the body found at Gordon Cooper Drive just south of Squirrel Creek was that of Wayne Allen Riley,” she said, adding that Riley was 57.
Citizen Potawatomi Nation Tribal Police Chief Jim Collard said it was late Saturday night when they received reports of someone lying down in an area east of Gordon Cooper Drive, south of Squirrel Creek and the CPN administration building.
Officers arrived quickly on scene and contacted the state Medical Examiner's office, he said, which will determine an exact cause of death.
As of Monday, the cause of death had not yet been determined.
