Senior Kelsie Wood and freshman Parker Stevenson combined for nine 3-point field goals Tuesday night as Bethel’s girls launched the 2020 portion of their schedule with a 55-37 victory over Mt. St. Mary.

OKLAHOMA CITY — Senior Kelsie Wood and freshman Parker Stevenson combined for nine 3-point field goals Tuesday night as Bethel’s girls launched the 2020 portion of their schedule with a 55-37 victory over Mt. St. Mary.

Wood drained four 3-pointers — two in each half — while Stevenson sank five treys, three after halftime. Wood finished with a game-high 18 points and Stevenson came in with 17 as Bethel improved to 4-2.

Paige Hubler and Kennedy Gregory notched one trey apiece as Bethel finished with a season-high 11 3-pointers. Gregory notched 10 points.

Bethel led just 18-17 after one quarter but took control with a 19-9 second quarter.

The Lady Wildcats were 8-of-11 from the free-throw line.

Bethel will take on Purcell at 4 p.m. Thursday in opening-round play of the Ada Nissan/Byng Winter Çlassic.

Bethel’s boys weren’t so fortunate, dropping a 65-34 decision to Mt. St. Mary.

Bethel, 3-3, will play Byng at 8:30 Thursday at the Byng Winter Classic.
