MEEKER — Fueled by a 22-point outing from sophomore Leah Brannon, Chandler’s girls swamped Meeker 49-27 Tuesday night.
Brannon canned 10-of-12 free throws and Chandler finished at 17 of 24.
Brannon notched 12 points in the first half but Chandler led just 20-15. The Lady Lions (13-6) took command with a 14-6 third quarter.
In the fourth quarter, Chandler was 10-of-10 from the line while outscoring the hosts 15-6.
Senior Madison Hedge had Meeker’s only 3-point field goal and finished with 15 points.
“In the first half, we missed a bunch of easy shots, but we took advantage of our fast break in the second half,” said Chandler coach Rodney Treat. “It was an up-and-down, fast-paced game. We were very aggressive offensively.”
Meeker (3-12) was down just 7-3 after one quarter.
“We played one of our best defensive games of the year against a very big and long team,” said Meeker coach Brady Dukes. “I was very proud of them.”
Chandler’s boys defeated Meeker 56-46. No other information was available.
Chandler will be idle until next Tuesday when it hosts Wellston. Meeker will entertain Stroud Friday night as part of homecoming.
