WEWOKA — Carter Crowe and Ike Shirey shared scoring honors with 22 points, propelling Dale’s boys to a 73-60 win over Wewoka Friday night.

Dale, in moving to 15-6 on the season, trailed just once at 3-2.

“That’s the first time I think we’ve beaten Wewoka on the road in about 10 years,” Dale coach Jeff Edmonson said.

Crowe recorded three of Dale’s five 3-pointers.

Dale, ranked third, set the early tempo by leading Wewoka 18-6 after one quarter. The biggest Pirate lead came at 19 points.

Junior Dallen Forsythe collected 10 points.

Dale hit 12-of-22 charity tosses. Wewoka was 15 of 25.

Kolby Stephens of Wewoka had two treys while piling up a game-high 26 points in the first matchup of the two squads this season.

Dale will be home Tuesday against Vanoss.

Dale 82, Wewoka 51

Fourteen Lady Pirates made the scoring column, topped by Jaci McClure with 14, Elaine Witt with 12 and Danyn Lang with 11.

Dale recorded six 3-point field goals as McClure led the way with three. Registering one 3-point field goal were Lang, Brook Rutland and Faith Wright. Wright finished with nine points and Miya Miller produced eight.

Dale led 41-26 at the intermission.
