Southern Nazarene shot 53.6% from the floor while limiting the Oklahoma Baptist University Bison to 36.5% in claiming a 76-61 victory in Great American Conference women's basketball action at the Noble Complex.

Alexus Jones poured in 23 points, nailed 6-of-10 shots from the floor and was 11-of-13 from the free-throw stripe to spark the Crimson Storm, who improved to 15-6 overall and 12-5 in the GAC.

Teammate Myriam Garcia recorded a double-double with 14 points and 11 rebounds while blocking six shots. She was 6-of-9 from the field. Nefer Leon chipped in 10 points for the winners.

Charissa Price paced OBU with 17 points as she was 6-of-8, including 3-of-3 from 3-point land, and 2-of-3 from the line. However, outside of her shooting, the Bison were only 13-of-44 from the field.

Jaylin Stapleton followed with 12 points, was 6-of-6 from the charity stripe and dished out four assists. Ugochinyere Nwarie finished with 10 points and Mckenzie Cooper was next with eight for the Bison, who fell to 6-18 and 1-16.

The Crimson Storm won despite hitting just 2-of-11 shots from outside the arc (18.2%). The Bison were 5-of-10 from long rane (50%).

SNU was 18-of-25 from the line (72%) and OBU ended up 14-of-19 (73.7%).

A 26-14 first quarter keyed the Crimson Storm momentum as they shot 64.7% from the floor in that quarter alone (11-of-17). They later had a 66.7% shooting effort (8-of-12) in the fourth quarter to keep the Bison at a distance.

OBU will host East Central University Saturday at 1 p.m. in another GAC matchup.
