PERRY — A free-throw discrepancy went against Chandler Friday night as the Lady Lions dropped a 40-38 decision to Perry in a Class 3A district battle.
Chandler canned 75% of its charity tosses (9 of 12). Perry went 13 of 24 from the line, providing the narrow margin of difference.
The game was tied at 18 at the intermission and Perry took a 30-27 lead into the final quarter.
Junior Hannah Vandenbrand was Chandler’s top scorer with 10. Sophomore Leah Brannon recorded nine points and senior Kelsey Williams provided two 3-point field goals en route to eight points.
Brannon canned 7-of-8 free throws. Jaedyn Wayland of Chandler had a trey.
Chandler (15-9) will engage the Meeker-Prague district loser at 1:30 p.m. Thursday in a regional matchup at Prague.
