PRAGUE – Three Prague players – Taylor Hodges, Adisyn Auld and Beth Denney – each scored in double figures as the Class 3A 11th-ranked Lady Red Devils routed the Meeker Lady Bulldogs, 68-31, for a Class 3A district crown on Saturday.
Hodges led the way with 18 points as she drained three 3-point shots. Auld finished with 16 points while connecting for two treys and Denney ended up with 12 points and two 3-pointers as well.
“We took control from the start and had a 44-10 lead at halftime,” said Prague girls' head coach Benny Burnett. “Our starters didn't play the fourth quarter.”
Lexi Lopez topped the Meeker scoring with 13 as she also knocked three treys. Madison Hedge followed with nine points and Halle Calvillo ended up with six off two 3-point conversions.
Diana Manning finished with nine points for the winners and Jaycee Johnson chipped in six points off a pair of 3-point makes.
The Lady Red Devils also sank 12-of-13 free throws in the game.
Prague, 21-3 on the season, will face Perry Thursday at 6:30 p.m. in Prague for 3A regional winners' bracket play. Meeker will take on Chandler Thursday at 1:30 p.m. in consolation bracket action.
PRAGUE 60, MEEKER 49 (Boys)
Trip Davis fired in a game-high 23 points and Isaiah Bias tossed in 16 as the Red Devils topped the Bulldogs.
Bias drilled four 3-point shots and Davis had one long-range connection.
Nate Lester added 12 points to the Prague attack.
Kade Brewster paced Meeker in a losing effort with 17 points as he canned a pair of treys. Cade Patterson chipped in 11 points, including one 3-pointer, and Zack Cook ended up with 10 total points.
“It was the fourth time we have played them this year and it was great to get the win,” said Prague boys' coach Nate Greer. “I thought Meeker played hard.”
The Red Devils, 16-8, will host Perry in a regional winners' bracket clash on Thursday at 8 p.m.
