Blaine Cope has been selected as one of The Shawnee News-Star and Patriot Auto Group Students of the Month for March and is now in the running to win a car.
Macomb senior Blaine Cope is a leader at Macomb High School and maintains a 3.94 GPA.
He has been selected as one of The Shawnee News-Star and Patriot Auto Group Students of the Month for March and is now in the running to win a car.

“I have had the privilege to get to know Blaine over the past few years; Blaine is an outstanding student who plays an active role in our FFA chapter, athletics and our community,” Macomb High School Counselor DonNell Riggs said. “Blaine is a young man with a lot to look forward to in life, and has the work ethic and ability to get it done while working with a wide range of people.”
Active in sports and academics, Cope is a four-year letterman and starter and captain of Macomb High School's varsity basketball team, Riggs said.
“Blaine displays leadership in his roles on the basketball court and as the FFA Chapter president,” Riggs said. “Blaine often helps teachers and staff and fellow classmates.”
Cope has served as a mentor at 4-H Project Day and has helped at various 4-H and FFA events and functions.
As a volunteer, Cope has offered his help and time at events like Wreaths Across America; Kiwanis Pancake Feed; Pottawatomie County Livestock Show; Trophy Auction; Pottawatomie County Free Fair; and Macomb Masonic Lodge Watermelon Feed.
Among Cope's honors and awards are State FFA Proficiency Award in Agricultural Mechanics and Repair Placement for three years; Richards Drug Award (2019); Tractor Supply Good Neighbor Award (2018); FFA Star Green Hand (local Chapter); Swine Achievement, Livestock Judging and Outstanding FFA Member 2019 (Local Chapter); InvestEd Stars Central Region Winner (2019); and Seminole State College Presidents Honor Roll (Summer and Fall Semester).
Cope plans to attend Oklahoma State University and study banking and finance.
