Chris Whitman

Earlsboro - Chris Gregory Whitman, longtime Earlsboro resident, passed to peace and Heavenly life on February 22, 2021, in Wetumka OK. He was born July 7, 1978, in Shawnee OK to parents Richard M. Whitman and Doris (Carpenter) Whitman. He graduated from Earlsboro High School, class of 1996, where he played baseball. He married Trisha Lin Turner on July 5, 2002, in Smithville OK. His sons Mason Whitman and Madux Whitman were born during this union. He proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corps for eight years. He deployed with the HIMARS unit, Fox Battery 2/14 in Operation Iraqi Freedom 2007-2008. He attained rank of Staff Sergeant before being honorably discharged. He enjoyed being outdoors, hunting, fishing, and riding his motorcycle. He was a skilled carpenter and cabinet craftsman as well as CNC machinist. He is preceded in death by his father Richard Whitman; step-mother Judy; paternal grandfather Carl Whitman; paternal grandmother Betty Jefferson; maternal grandparents Bill and Jewel Carpenter; aunt Paula Whitman; and uncle Willie Owen Carpenter. He is survived by his mother and step-father Doris (Ira) Swearingen; sons Mason Whitman and Madux Whitman; brothers Mark (Virginia) Whitman and Kent Whitman; step-brothers Donny Coblentz and Kent Craft; nieces Jessica (Cody) Williams and Madison Whitman; nephews Ryan (Tulsa) Howard and Dylan Howard; aunts Cathy Johnson, Flora (Wayne) Lowery, Charlotte Fullbright, Theresa Henson and Carol Whitman; great-nephews Creeden, Luke and Kason; great-niece Aubrey; numerous cousins; former wife, Trisha (Turner) Whitman; and a host of other extended family, friends and brothers-in-arms. Family visitation will be Thursday, March 18, 2021, from 4 to 5 p.m. Public visitation will be Thursday, March 18, 2021, from 5 to 8 p.m. at Brown's Family Funeral Home, 416 E. Broadway, McLoud OK 74851.

Funeral service will be Friday, March 19, 2021, at 2p.m., at Dale Baptist Church, 300 2nd Ave, Dale OK. Officiating will be Rev Doug Parker, pastor, and Charlotte Fullbright.
