Joyce Maxine (Haney) Van Cleave
Born October 11th, 1933 in Stroud, Oklahoma to C. Mike and Bertha L (Curry) Haney. At the age of eleven Joyce accepted Jesus Christ as her personal savior and was baptized that day in the same pond her mother had been baptized in years earlier. Joyce graduated from Stroud High School as a part of the class of 1951. Upon completion of High School she briefly attended Neff Business College in Shawnee where she would meet and eventually marry O. Victor Van Cleave Jr. on December 28, 1951. Joyce worked for several businesses and organizations for over a span of 40 years in various administrative support capacities. Joyce was a former member of St. Paul's UMC Shawnee, and at the time of her death was an active soldier of The Salvation Army Shawnee, Ok corps. She was promoted to glory on the evening of March 16th, 2021.
Joyce is preceded in death by her parents, her sister Phyllis Ann (Haney) Pyle, her husband, their only child Carolyn Ann (Van Cleave) Burns, and two great-grandchildren Angelica and Seth.
Joyce is survived by her granddaughter Stephanie and her children, 2 nieces, 1 nephew, a stepson Victor L. Cassey (Sally) of California, 1 granddaughter, 2 grandsons, and a great-granddaughter. Joyce considered them a very special part of her life.
Additionally she is survived by a host of relatives and friends including a dear friend Patricia Elliott of Shawnee, Oklahoma.
A celebration of life service was held on Thursday, March 25th, 2021 at 10:00 am, at The Salvation Army of Shawnee, Oklahoma. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Salvation Army of Shawnee - 200 E 9th St. Shawnee, OK 74801
