Delbert Richard Duy
Shawnee - Delbert Richard Duy, 78 was born July 5, 1942 in Linwood, KS the son of Philip and Arleine (Anderson) Duy. He went to be with his Lord and Savior after a brief illness on Sunday, March 28, 2021. Delbert was raised in Tonganoxie, KS and graduated from Linwood High School in 1960. He went on to earn his BS in Education at The Kansas State Teachers College and taught high school mathematics, was a track and field and basketball couch, and the school bus driver for over 10 years. Delbert later worked as a regional manager for 7-Eleven in the OKC metro and surrounding areas where he retired in 2008 after 29 years of service. In retirement, Delbert had time to pursue his love of gardening, his extensive studies in geography, history, and weather events, and he was an active member of Liberty Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife, Roberta Duy of Shawnee, daughter, Susan Tedrow (Greg) of Waynesburg, PA, son Mark Duy( Heather ) of Milton, Vt, step children, Becky Burkhead (Randy) of Shawnee, David Gallagher (Tammy) of OKC, Johnny Flowers, Bobby Flowers (Denise) of Bethel Acres, Cindy Howard (Sam) of Shawnee, grandchildren, Paul (Brittany), Phillip and Gage Tedrow, Olivia and Tristan Duy, step grandchildren Rachel Pearson (James), Abigail Kordsiemon (Thomas), Joanna Weiss (JD), Mary Seifert (Hayden), Susanna and Chole Burkhead, Nicholas and James Gallagher, Chris Flowers (Kelly), Lauren Davis (Josh), April Martin (Aaron), Ashley Runion (Dustin), Kacy Flowers, his beloved great grandchildren, Juliana and Paisley Tedrow, and seven step great grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Gayle Duy and stepdaughter, Anita Sanders. A memorial celebration of life will be at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, April 10 at Liberty Baptist Church, 711 E Federal Street, Shawnee, OK. Memorials may be made to Liberty Baptist Church in Delbert's honor.
