Albert E. Crawford Jr.

Albert E. Crawford Jr. passed from this life into the arms of his Heavenly Father Saturday night, May 15, 2021 surrounded by his loving family. Albert was born January 3, 1937 to Albert E. Crawford Sr. and Gladys Myers Crawford in Shawnee, Oklahoma. He attended the Shawnee schools and graduated with the class of 1955. He was noted for his pitching ability with the baseball team and also played football.

He is preceded in death by his parents, his sister, Zo Carolyn Crawford Shults and her husband, Charles Albert Shults; his brother Phil Roy Crawford. Also his father-in-law and mother-in-law Rev Earl Creek and Mary Ruth Campbell Cleek. Also a son-in-law Todd Webb.

He is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Mary Cleek Crawford. They met at Oklahoma Baptist University where they both graduated. They were blessed with 3 beautiful daughters, Jami Lyn Crawford Hodes and her husband Mike. Kimberly Kaye Crawford Price, and Kristin Mary Crawford.

Grandchildren Eric Keith Miller and his daughter, Briana Miller. Dakota Price and his Fiancé Heathr Glidewell and children Lily and Collin. Sierra Webb Owens and Chase Owens, Sr and children Chase Owens, Jr and Brooklyn Owens; Shelby Price and James Phelps and children Bostynn Phelps and Blaycelynn Phelps; Taryn Lucinda Crawford and Joshua Caleb Crawford (who have. even raised by Albert and Mary Crawford as their own children due to the illness of their mother. He is survived by his niece, Paula Shults and nephew Steven Shults and wife Charlotte. Also his niece Denise Crawford Duncan and husband David Duncan; nephew Mark Crawford. He is also survived by sister and brother-in-laws Dorotha Cleek Cahill and husband, Dr. Charles Cahill; Dr. John Cleek and wife Connie; Bill Cleek and Margaret Cleek Gilley and her husband Paul.

He is survived by many nieces, nephews, and cousins who loved him dearly. He is also survived by a very special friend, former employer, Thomas W. Hunzicker, who considered Albert like a brother. He is survived by many OBU basketball players of the late 1980s and early 90s. He cooked ribs and brisket and had many fun times at the farm with his adopted students.

After graduating from OBU with a business administration degree he entered the field of credit and finance. His latest position was with Hunzicker Brothers Electric in Oklahoma City. He was a member of the University Baptist Church of Shawnee, Oklahoma. He missed his friends in his Sunday School Class the past several years due to his illness.

He served in the United States Army from 1960 to 1967. Albert especially enjoyed his grandchildren and they loved PaPa dearly. Before having grandsons Albert would joke about even his dogs (and he had many) were female.

The family wishes to thank Heartland Hospice and the many caring aids, nurses, social workers, and chaplain who cared for him like family.

There will be viewing and family visitation, Friday, May 21, 2021 from 6:00pm to 8:00pm at University Baptist Church across from OBU.

Services will be Saturday, May 22, 2021 at 2:00pm at University Baptist Church with burial at Sunnyside Cemetery North and East of Meeker, Oklahoma.

Arrangements are being handled by Brown's Family Funeral Home of McLoud, Oklahoma.
