Jimmy Dale Dickinson

Shawnee - Jimmy Dale Dickinson, 84, of Shawnee, Oklahoma, passed away peacefully at home, on October 2, 2021. Jimmy was born May 23, 1937. He graduated from Maysville High School in 1955. Jimmy married the love of his life, Nella "Sue" DeArman, on February 2, 1957. Jimmy and Sue enjoyed 64 years of marriage together. Jimmy worked at Petroleum Incorporated for 37 years. Once he retired, he worked at the Oklahoma Forestry Service and later Marcums Nursery.

Jimmy's family includes his son Charlie Dickinson and wife Jeanna of Dale, Oklahoma. Jimmy's grandchildren include granddaughter Ashley Edmondson and husband Andy, and their children Easton, Tanner, and Scout, of Raton, New Mexico, and grandsons Cole Dickinson of Shawnee, and Cade Dickinson of Dale, Oklahoma, and many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends.

Jimmy's siblings include his sister Sue Jeanette Sahmaunt and husband Hershel "Ace," and his brother Charles Herman Dickinson, and wife "Danni."

Jimmy was preceded in death by his parents, Herman Cecil Dickinson, and his mother Opal Davis Dickinson.

Jimmy loved all things OU and Dale Pirate Athletics. Jimmy and Sue enjoyed attending OU football bowl games and women's basketball games, skiing, hiking and fishing in Colorado. As a lifelong OU fan, he and Charlie attended OU football games since Charlie was about five years old. When Charlie became a coach at Dale, Jimmy became a Dale Pirate and loved supporting Dale baseball, softball, and basketball teams. Jimmy loved his family, had wonderful friends, and was spoken of highly as a good man. Jimmy loved quail and pheasant hunting, hunting in Kansas, and being outdoors. He loved watching his grandchildren compete in athletics and supporting his community. He was lifelong member of Maysville Church of Christ and later became a member of the Northridge Church of Christ when he moved to Shawnee.

The service and burial will be held on Wednesday, October 6, 2021. The service will be held at 10:00 a.m. and conducted by Cliff Craig at Northridge Church of Christ in Shawnee, Oklahoma. The interment will be at the Paoli Cemetery at 2:00 p.m. in Garvin County, Oklahoma. Arrangements were made by the DeArman Funeral Home.
