Larry Ray Blocker

Larry Ray Blocker, amazing husband and father, died unexpectedly on September 2, 2021, in Shawnee Oklahoma at the age of 66. He often referred to himself as the black sheep of the family for leaving Oklahoma to join the United States Navy, not to return to where he grew up until retirement brought him home.

Larry was the eldest of the seven children of Shirley Mae Blocker (formerly Smith) and George William Blocker. He often reminisced and told stories about his time growing up in a large family. Larry was a man proud of his family's heritage in the brick masonry business dating back generations. With an entrepreneurial spirit he owned several businesses in his life including one in his first career laying brick, block and rock; as well as one designing computer chips in his second career as an integrated circuit layout designer.

Larry was a dedicated husband, father and grandfather. He left this world married to the love of his life of forty-years, Karen Lee Blocker. Larry adopted his daughter, Deanna Marie Blocker, at the age of nine, and as her "Pa" was extremely proud to see her graduate college. Larry was likewise proud to watch his son, William Scott Blocker, graduate college and then law school. He never missed the opportunity to poke good fun at either of his children for working in the legal industry, whether it be his daughter's role as Juvenile Probation Officer or his son taking on the role of Municipal Judge. He will be dearly missed by his daughter-in-law Lynn Louann Blocker (Lynnie Lou), and his son-in-law Brian Randall.

Larry traveled a lot and loved the opportunities he had to see the world with his beautiful bride. They lived in Montana for many years, which he referred to as "God's Country." He was a generous man who would give his last dollar or the shirt off of his back to help someone in need. Larry passed the lessons of charity on to his children and five grand-children Caitlin May Stewart, Cameron Ray Stewart, Kyson Kyle Blocker, Clayton Lane Blocker and Wyatt Ray Blocker.

Larry was a proud United States Navy Veteran, 32nd degree Master Mason who belonged to Ionic Lodge #38 of Hamilton Montana. He was also a member of the Scottish Rite Valley of Western Montana in Missoula, Montana, as well as the Grand Commandery of Knights Templar in Hamilton, Montana where he became a proud Knights Templar.

Larry's laugh and jokes will never be forgotten by anyone that grew to know him well and he leaves behind a large family including his four brothers and two sisters: Mark Blocker married to Delena (bloody toes) Blocker of Mustang, Oklahoma; Darrel Blocker of Webbers Falls, Oklahoma; Jeff Blocker of Shawnee, Oklahoma; Dan Blocker married to Jan Blocker of Woodward, Oklahoma; Pamela Rymer married to Danny Rymer of Ocean Springs, Mississippi; and, Tamela Rochelle married to Kevin Rochelle of Comanche, Oklahoma. Larry also leaves behind long time family friends Merle and Sharon Sauders of Tecumseh, Oklahoma whom he enjoyed gardening and telling "moonshine" stories with.

We will see you on the other side Dad. As he always signed everything, Love Me.
