MSgt. Clovis Wayne Plantz, 62, of Costa Rica, formerly from Tecumseh, passed away Jan. 10, 2020, in Costa Rica.
He was born Dec. 11, 1957, to Clovis “Earl” And Betty Plantz.
Clovis was raised in the Shawnee/Tecumseh area. He was a 1976 graduate of Bethel High School.
He was a lifelong resident of Pottawatomie County until moving to Costa Rica in 2015.
He proudly served his country in the United States Air Force for 23 years.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Clovis ‘Earl" And Betty Plantz; one brother, James "Jim" Plantz; one sister, Karen Lowery; two nephews, Wesley Lowery and Christopher "Chris" Plantz.
Those left to cherish his memory are his daughter, Loni and Cody Young; stepson, Tyler Hughes; three grandchildren, Aiden, Cody Renay and Mckenna Young; sister, Sharon And Dennis Cotton; ex-wife, April Musson; two nieces, Trina Plantz, Heather and Jake Magar; three nephews, Johnny and Jennifer, Jimmy and Bryan Lowery; half-sister, Nancy and Jack Sliger; lifelong friend, Jimmie Taylor; and numerous extended family, friends and loved ones as well as his extended family and friends in Golfito, Costa Rica.
The family extends a special thanks to Sally Kruse Guando for her special care of Clovis in his last days.
Memorial service will be at 2 p.m., Saturday, Aug. 8, at Cooper Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Mike Taylor officiating under the direction of Cooper Funeral Home of Tecumseh.
