Oklahoma Baptist’s 2015 NAIA World Series season is no cause for concern for most the Great American Conference coaches, who rank the Bison ninth in the GAC preseason poll released Tuesday.

One GAC coach in the anonymous poll, however, showed his respect with a first-place vote.

The Bison were 53-8 last season and return successful starting pitcher Jinny Parra who was 10-2 last season. Ryan Joyce (.354, 6 home runs) is the top returning hitter.

Southern Arkansas had eight first place votes and 118 points to finish first in the poll. The Muleriders were 40-18 last season.

Henderson State got the other three first-place votes and finished second with 110 points. The Reddies are coming off of a 33-21 season.

Harding is third in the poll, followed by Ouachita Baptist, Arkansas Tech, Southeastern Oklahoma State, Arkansas-Monticello, Southwestern Oklahoma State, OBU, East Central, Northwestern Oklahoma State and Southern Nazarene.

The Bison open the season at home against York College, Feb. 5.
