The Shawnee girls remained a powerhouse in state swimming with a big win at Chickasha Monday. The girls kept plenty of space between them and their competitors, putting up 185 points for first to Chickasha’s 77 in second. Seminole took third, McLoud fourth and Tecumseh fifth.
The Chickasha boys won their team event with 136 followed by Shawnee in second with 113 and Tecumseh with 37.
The Shawnee girls swept the relay portion of the program with the top times in each event. Bremma Grein, Peyton Wilson, Dottie Lee and Bridgette Longest won the 200 medley relay as we;; as the 200 free relay. Leticia Cervantes, Avery Hadley, Magan Smith and Madiline Motley took the 400 free relay while teammates Lorelei Buchanan, Jordan Fontenot, Courtney Field and Jewels Simposon finished second.
Cervantes and Grein took the first two spots in the 200 free, Simpson and Fontenot first and second in the 200 IM and Longest and Wilson first and third in the 50 free, wedged by Rachel Hubbard from McLoud in second.
Hadley and Smith took first and second in the fly, Lee, Hubbard and Motley the top three spots in the 100 free and Cervantes topped in the 400 free.
Longest, Grein and Hadley swept the 100 back and Wilson and Fontenot finished top two in the 100 breast.
Jackson Baugh took first in the 200 free for the Shawnee boys fllowed by James Furstenworth from Tecumseh.
Tecumseh’s Caleb Hatton win the 50 free, Will Gibson and Nick Tro took first and second in the 400 free and Jackson Baugh took top honors on the 100 back.
