The Asher girls recorded another win as they topped Boswell 59-53 at the Class B Regional Championship at Antlers Saturday.
The Lady Indians got out to a 10-8 lead before falling behind in the second quarter to trail 23-22 at the half.
They recovered with a 21-16 run in the second and had a 16-14 advantage in the fourth to hold on for the win.
Tarin Dubler was the only double-digit scorer for Asher with 28 points in the contest to lead all scorers and score almost half of the Lady Indians points. Braxten Frazier had nine, Shelby Fleming eight, Ashley Odell seven and Rayanna Cheatwood put in six.
Coach Tari Dubler said her girls put out a great team effort in the game.
“They played through a lot of adversity. We got some key minutes from our bench and big buckets when we needed them. These kids have a ton of heart,” she said.
The Class B No. 7 Asher girls will travel to Quinton Friday where they will face No. 4 Red Oaks in the area championship game. The winner there will advance to the state tournament.
