The Asher Indians opened their season with split wins against Howe and Allen Tuesday afternoon.

The Indians started off with a 12-2 win over Howe before falling to Class A No. 14 Allen 9-0 in the night cap.

Hunter Seright had two doubles for two RBIs, Chris McDonald dinged twice with two RBIs and Junior Hasbell had two hits with an RBI. Preston Patton had four singles.

McDonald earned the win on the mound giving up two runs on two hits with five strikeouts in three innings pitched. Patton pitched in the fourth and fifth innings, allowing four hits while whiffing four.

J.R. Milburn scored the only run in the Indians' game against Allen to bring hom Josh Williamson on a double. Williamson himself doubled to get within scoring position the previous at bat.

Allen earned two runs in the top of the first, four in the second and three in the fourth.

Josh Williamson was given the loss after giving up nine runs on nine hits with three walks and seven strikeouts. Ty Brown earned the win for Allen.

The Indians (1-1) will host Wanette Thursday at four.
